A Scholarly Look at AVID Postsecondary

By Joseph B. Cuseo, Ph.D., Consultant

When significant papers are written on important topics, we want to share the good work.  Dr. Joe Cuseo’s paper titled “Closing the Gaps: The Relevance of AVID’s Postsecondary System to the Current Needs of American Higher Education” addresses the very important topic of college completion, or lack thereof, in this country.  “Failure to close this college-completion gap will have grave implications for our unemployment rate, our citizens’ dependence on public services, and the socioeconomic stability of our country (Institute for Higher Education Policy, 1998; Vernez & Mizell, 2001).”  Click here to read the paper in its entirety and learn about what AVID is doing to address the issue.
